Wendy Bell and Patrick McCarthy formed Superior Plantings in 2017 after 25 years of working side-by-side in the local commercial landscaping industry. They formed their team and opened their shop in Silver Spring, Maryland on the following principals:
- To design, install and maintain the most beautiful flowers and plants for corporate and commercial clients in MD, DC and VA.
- To constantly wow our clients with spectacular holiday décor.
- To live and breathe exceptional customer service.
Wendy oversees sales and Patrick manages the operations. Their team has a combined 150 years of experience in commercial interior and exterior flowers, plants and holiday décor. Each and every single one of us comes to work loving what we do. No client is too big or too small. Founder & President
Commitment. Zeal. Diligence. Those words describe the way Wendy lives every day as the Founder and President of Superior Plantings. Building on her impressive 25-year career of commercial landscape sales, Wendy decided to partner with Patrick McCarthy and start Superior Plantings with an unprecedented knowledge of the landscaping needs of Class-A commercial properties in the Washington, D.C. area. Focused on leading the sales team at Superior, Wendy knows what it takes to deliver stunning plant, flower and landscape services to our clients. Working with the holiday design team at Superior is one of her favorite activities and she travels to specialty trade shows every year, hand-picking unique holiday décor for our accounts. Wendy is the proud grandmother to one-year-old baby Kendall and loves spending her free time with her family and golden retriever Hope.
Founder & Vice President
You can replace a lot of things, but the wealth of knowledge Patrick McCarthy has accumulated over his 30-year career in the commercial landscape industry probably isn’t one of them. Serving as Founder and Vice President, Patrick oversees all operations functions at Superior, including all plant, flower and material purchasing; installation, rotation and maintenance scheduling; and serves as the direct supervisor for all our crew members. In his career Patrick has held every possible position on the operations side from loading dock helper (at 16), to driver, crew leader to operations manager. He couldn’t be more thrilled to bring this expertise and knowledge to Superior’s clients and show them what 30 years of relationships with our plant and flower growers, direct vendors and employees looks like.
Gilson Pascual, CLT
Installation and Maintenance Supervisor
Well respected by his peers and direct reports alike has earned Gilson an incredible reputation in the local landscape industry. Having an amazing passion for the business and an incredible eye for detail, there’s no one better than him to serve as our day-to-day installation and maintenance supervisor. But that’s not all he does! As we begin to ramp up to the holiday season, Gilson serves as our lead production and design coordinator. Using all his organizational skills and design talents, he manages to seamlessly execute our holiday program year after year. Gilson has a large extended family and enjoys spending his free time relaxing and reading.
Stephanie oversees all business and administrative functions at Superior including Accounting and Finance, Marketing and Sales Support, Human Resources, Process Development and Implementation and Vendor Management. Bringing a long history of high level administrative management and corporate communications experience makes her a valuable asset to the company. Stephanie happens to be married to one of Superior’s founders, Patrick McCarthy. This ensures her long-standing commitment to the business and has her involved in just about everything, whether it’s in her “job description” or not! Together, Patrick and Stephanie enjoy spending time at the shore, going on cruises and spoiling their miniature dachshund, Big Bite.
